Beach Vacations With My Dog
Salem, Massachusetts is historic, educational and fun! Salem has a fun, exciting side, but there are also many historic and beautiful places to see and things to do. It’s no wonder that because of the history of the Salem Witch Trials, they celebrate Halloween the entire month of October! Salem is very close to the harbor, so it also has a lot of maritime history. It’s also a dog-friendly city with plenty of dog-friendly dining options!
Tips For Staying In A Pet Friendly Hotel With Your Dog
Go to the beach where Old Man Winter left you! Dogs love the beach too, so in this post I share my experience finding two dog-friendly beaches in South Florida. In my next post I talk about a wonderful dog vacation in W. Palm Beach.
My Siberian Husky, Ichi, absolutely loved our trip to beautiful and snowy Waterville Valley, New Hampshire last winter! Surprisingly, Phoebe loved it too. He is doing well in the cold and walking the wonderful dog friendly trail we found in Waterville Valley.
If you are traveling with a dog or other pets on a road trip, avoid inconveniences that can stress you and your pets and disrupt your entire trip. Icy and Phoebe are always waiting for new adventures! This post contains helpful tips for a fun and successful road trip with your dogs!
New York City is extremely dog friendly! Central Park is a great place to take your dog. Afterwards, sit with your dog at one of the many roadside cafes to people watch! Here sits the ice at the center of the Imaginary Circle in Strawberry Fields, a memorial to the late John Lennon of The Beatles.

Dog-friendly New Mexico is called the “Land of Enchantment” for its incredible beauty and rich history. Santa Fe is located in the northern part of New Mexico. It is not only incredibly beautiful, but also culturally and artistically rich and diverse. When Icy and Phoebe were together, we found out what a Santa Fe dog is.
Sedona, Arizona is one of those truly magical places! The panoramic view will take your breath away. There are dog-friendly walking trails, and plenty of dog-friendly outdoor cafes and restaurants.
Get the dog! If you’re traveling with your dog, here are some helpful tips about flying with pets.
Flagstaff is another great dog-friendly place in Arizona, just north of Sedona. Its high altitude provides cool temperatures and lush forests. There are other dog-friendly hikes in the Flagstaff area.
Dog Friendly Accommodation In South East Qld
They call Arkansas the natural state for a reason. The natural beauty of the whole country is simply beautiful! Arkansas is also a dog-friendly place. Eureka Springs is located in northern Arkansas, deep in the Ozark Mountains. It is a small town surrounded by a lot of natural beauty.
Another beautiful small town in Arkansas is Hot Springs. It is the opposite of Eureka Springs because it is located in southern Arkansas and the natural springs below are hot springs instead of the cold springs found north of Eureka Springs. This small town is not only surrounded by natural beauty, but also has a very interesting history – hint: gangsters and baseball are at the center of the small town’s past!
If you’re looking for a stylish vacation with your dog, check out the Hamptons on Long Island, New York. The beaches are amazing but have many limitations. And bring your credit card, the Hamptons ain’t cheap!
To the east of the Hamptons is Montauk, New York’s Long Island. Montauk beaches are more dog friendly than the Hamptons. Montauk is literally the end of East Long Island, so people say “Montauk. The End.” The historic Montauk Lighthouse is located at the tip of Montauk Point and is the oldest lighthouse in America. The lighthouse is definitely worth a visit!
Holidays At Garda Lake
If you are a history buff, Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia – The Revolutionary City is a great vacation! We were very happy when we heard that this place is dog friendly. The rebel city has dog-friendly shelters and a few outdoor eateries. Visiting Colonial Williamsburg is like stepping back in time!
We love going to fun and exciting places with our dogs. Roswell, New Mexico definitely qualifies as one of the most interesting places we’ve ever been! Visiting the city most associated with UFOs and alien sightings. Yes, I mean the little blue guys…. Or should I say little green girls?….let’s just say little green creatures and leave it at that. Check out my post about our fun trip to the small town of Roswell, New Mexico. Long Island, New York is well known for its beautiful beaches and excellent schools. Something the dog doesn’t recognize. That doesn’t mean there aren’t great places around Long Island to enjoy with your dog. But there’s a great dog-friendly escape in Montauk, New York, on the eastern tip of Long Island. This is one of the few places on Long Island where you can find beautiful and fun places to spend time with your dog.
Montauk is on the east side of Long Island, and I mean the end. You’ll find t-shirts, bumper stickers, and other items with the words “MONTAUK. THE END” because Montauk marks the end of Long Island. Leave Montauk Point and find yourself in the open Atlantic, miles from land.
One of the main attractions of Montauk Point is the historic 200-year-old lighthouse. For a fee, visitors can climb to the top of the lighthouse and look out over the Atlantic Ocean and all of Montauk. On your way east of Montauk, you’ll pass the trendy area known as the Hamptons. I Don’t Know About You, But My Dog Vacations Everywhere With Me
Summer fun on Long Island is all about the beach! Sunbathing, surfing, kitesurfing, boating, or hiking the dunes and bluffs are favorites of Long Islanders. Having grown up on Long Island, I can attest to the fact that Long Islanders love their beaches and waterways! Unfortunately, there are some beaches around the “island” that allow dogs. However, Montauk has at least two great beaches that are open to dogs year-round and at any time of the day!
Camp Hero was a military base until it was handed over to the New York City Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation in the 1980s. It was even used as a football practice area during the Revolutionary War! We didn’t find any cannon balls – except for the ones in the nearby lakes – LOL! Camp Hero is located along the beautiful Montaukcoastline and is dog friendly! We enjoyed the beauty of the beach and cliffs by surfing.
In the photo below, you can see the history of the Montauk Lighthouse from afar. We had to climb a little trail to get from the bluff to the beach, but it was worth it!
The steep cliffs at Camp Hero are broken and can be dangerous if you get too close. We enjoyed their beauty from afar.

Montauk Point State Park is on the eastern edge of Montauk, just down the road from Camp Hero State Park. The Montauk Point lighthouse is one of the biggest tourist attractions there. Camp Hero is free if you already pay the $8 parking fee at Montauk Point State Park, so save your receipt! a particle of definite matter
During the American Revolution, Montauk Point was the site of many shipwrecks. After the revolution, the newly established American government wanted to promote trade with other countries. To do this, they needed to make the waters off Montauk Point less treacherous for naval vessels, creating a safe passage to the important ports of New York and Baltimore.
In 1796, the Montauk Lighthouse, the first lighthouse built in New York State, was born out of this need. This lighthouse is the fourth working lighthouse in America that guides mariners safely through the thick fog that often covers the sea along the east coast of Long Island. This is a great source of pride for native Long Islanders!
The beach at Montauk Point State Park has more pebbles and bigger rocks than Camp Hero Beach, but it’s still fun! a particle of definite matter
