It’s easy to see why, you take an amazing carp lake full of big carp and spend a few nights in the lake with all the mods! We asked local fishing expert Wayne Box to tell us about three of the best he’s been a part of.

Cherry Lakes is located in the Cotswold Water Park in the village of South Cerney and is run by Mike and Judith Kirsch, there are four lakes on site, three of which are exclusive to you when you book. The jewel in the crown is undoubtedly Cherry Lake itself, with only three cabins and one beautiful cabin there is plenty of room for everyone. Not sure what the current lake record is, but a 48 pound fish was recently caught! I shudder to think how many thirty year olds there are now, must be well over 60, not bad for 5 acres!

Fishing in the main lake is not easy, but with a little thought should result in some fish on land, fish are caught from all over the world even without areas that are considered better than others.
My best from Cherry Lake is a group in the mid 30’s in April, multiple strikes are common and the 40’s are increasing every year!
The other three lakes, Cherry Mere, Cherry Pool and Cherry Spring hold A LOT of carp, they are certainly best described as running water, although like everywhere else they can make life difficult for those who don’t pay attention to the fishing.
The accommodation is simply superb, mainly one bed cabins, with a two bed cabin at Cherry Mere and the cabin that sleeps 6 and has its own private swimming pool just 25 meters from the hot tub! Apart from the fishing and luxury accommodation, the one thing I love about Cherry Lakes is that when the gate is closed behind you there is nothing but peace and quiet, we usually fish all night and morning before driving on for a few hours to explore locally. area, Cherry Lakes is truly a place to relax, but with the opportunity to catch the fish of a lifetime!
Log Cabins With Hot Tubs In Cumbria
Sumners Ponds is home to four lakeside cottages, each with its own character and charm, enjoying an enviable setting with its own private fishing porch. These superb cabins boast breathtaking views of beautiful Sumners Lake and offer a paradise for anglers and nature lovers.
The four purpose-built self-catering cabins overlook Sumners Lake which is well stocked with carp to and around 36lb, perch, tench, mullet, bream and pike offering excellent fishing. Fishing from the cabins is included in the stay. However, guests are welcome to fish in the other nearby lakes, offering them a day fishing ticket. All residents of the residences are welcome to use all other facilities on site.
There are 3 other lakes on site and a match lake, with Betty’s lake being the carp angler of many a twenties and thirties.
The two newest cabins, Iris and Lily, are contemporary in design and offer light and airy accommodation with spectacular views of the southeast end of Sumners Lake.
Sumners Ponds Lodges For Carp Fishing
Cozy Moorhen and Grebe Lodge are traditional Norwegian log cabins, also located on the southwest and northwest ends of Sumners Lake, with beautiful water views.
Each of the four cabins has its own wooden terrace where you can enjoy breakfast at the dining table overlooking the water. All four cabins are light and airy, tastefully furnished, fully equipped to a high standard. Use of electricity and gas is included, as well as bed linen for all beds. Towels are not included, so guests must bring their own, as well as washing-up liquid, rubbish bins etc.
Two well behaved dogs are welcome at Moorhen and Grebe Lodge for £20 per week. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at Iris and Lily Lodge.
A fishing license is not required to fish from the deck of your cabin. Permits are only required when fishing elsewhere on the campsite. The fishing allocated to the cabin will normally be enough for two anglers to share.

Last on my list of the best carp fishing lodges, Blackthorn Fishery is a beautiful 3.5 acre luxury carp fishing lodge near Oswestry in North Shropshire, on the Welsh border.
