Thousands of events will be held across the UK over the bank holiday weekend to celebrate the coronation of King Charles. But you might be wondering what activities are dog-friendly? We’ve compiled a list of the best events for your four-legged friends… From dog shows to garden parties, we’re sure you’ll find something worth the wagging of your tail!

The Dogvine London Dog Blog
The Coronation Tea Party raises funds for DAWG, a charity that rescues Greyhounds and Lurchers. Come along to celebrate the Coronation and help provide much needed funds to this worthy charity. Saturday, May 6, 10am-4pm, Stipe Hill, Bristol. In addition to Pimm’s, there are activities for kids and cakes for adults!
May is the time for Coronation Weekend celebrations, with all the usual fun and adventure, plus a Crown Hunt selfie contest, a fun new track for kids, and celebratory cakes in the container kitchen. Canonteign is dog-friendly, so your dog can join in the fun!
Celebrate the coronation of King Charles III with a picnic! This free event takes place at Halton Forest Park on Bank Holiday Monday 8 May from 11am to 3pm. Activities include face painting, children’s magician (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.), family games for all, and Royal Best Dressed Dog Contest – bring your stylish pooch to the information booth for a photo and win a doggie treat bag! Don’t forget to pack a hearty English picnic for a wonderful family day out in the woods.
The iconic Battersea Power Station is inviting the public to its massive Coronation street party on 6 and 7 May. The main events of the parade and coronation will be broadcast on the big screen, while tributes will also be performed by Elton John and the Spice Girls.

You’re invited to the party on Sunday, May 7th! Winnie the Pooh Party is a fun event for you and your dog, where you can enjoy a three-course lunch! Join the royal celebrations, dress your pup in the most regal outfit (buy accessories here!) and let your pup walk down the red carpet at the Barking Party. The best dressed dog will be crowned the winner (literally) and he will go home with a very special prize. After all the fun, head to the restaurant to enjoy our three-course bone-in menu for you and your dog.
The Dog Show is the UK’s favorite dog event for dogs of all shapes and sizes – and in 2023 it’s back, bigger and better! Treat your dog to two days of exciting arena shows, expert advice, shopping and tons of fun activities, including the famous dog show where you and your dog can win roses, plus enjoy K9 watersports, Talent contests, live music and more.
Celebrate the coronation of King Charles III with the Great Coronation Ceremony at Harrogate. The Park Party lasts three days in the beautiful surroundings of Valley Gardens. Families, including dogs, can come together over the holiday weekend to commemorate this important event with a live broadcast of the big-screen coronation, family-friendly entertainment, playground rides and an arts and crafts market. Bring a picnic blanket and get ready for the weekend festivities. Watch the coronation of the new king live from London’s Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6 May, followed by the full festival program including a fun family movie.

Cotswold Dogs and Cats Home will be hosting the Big Dog Show and Coronation Day Picnic at Jubilee Playground, Gloucestershire GL11 5UL. It will be a wonderful family day celebrating the coronation of the King in the community! Bring the whole family together for a truly royal celebration on Saturday, May 6th from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Will your dog win an award at the show? Compete for “Your Majesty”, “Your Majesty”, “Mini Royal”, “Golden Lao”, “Best in Show”, etc.
This is something very special! Seaham Hall in County Durham is opening its doors to its namesake pup – which means if you have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, you can spend the night in a 5-star hotel for free! Owners who book a doggy package with their very own King Charles will receive an extra night when booking a three-night stay, and your furry friend will receive an in-room “puppy bag” filled with treats and a “pausco” , to help them relax after a day at the beach.
