Dog Friendly Vacations New England – Looking for dog friendly hotels in New England? I hate leaving my dog Rozko at home when I travel. After all, vacations are more fun when you bring your best friend. But finding a dog-friendly hotel in New England requires a lot of research. What is the hotel’s dog policy? Are there additional fees? Are there weight or breed restrictions? And you might worry that you’ll be giving up the comfort of traveling with your dog. Are motels and campgrounds the only option to “clean up” this? Or are there places that not only allow dogs but actually care about dogs and their owners?
I’m here to save you a lot of time and hassle when planning your next vacation with your dog. I’ve compiled a list of my favorite dog-friendly hotels in New England that Roscoe and I have stayed at. So the next time you’re on the road, you don’t have to leave your best friend behind! Get your feet wet at some of the best places to stay in New England.

Located on the shores of Lake Champlain, Basin Harbor believes that no family vacation is complete without its four-legged family members. Their pet policy allows well-behaved dogs of any size to be accommodated in the cottages for a daily pet fee. To book online, you can select a home and then add the pet fee at checkout.
Pet Friendly Getaway At The Nantucket Hotel
This resort has everything you need for the perfect vacation without leaving the 700 acres of land. Choose from an array of fun activities for the whole family, from land to lake. The swimming pool and guest beach are pet-free areas, but dogs have a swimming area at Fanny Beach. We rented a sailboat to go out on the lake with Roscoe! Alternatively, you can dine at one of the five restaurants. Dogs are not allowed in the dining area but are welcome to dine with you on Red Mill’s comfortable outdoor seating. Dog walking and sitting services are also available if you want to have fun without Fido.

The Field Guide Lodge in Stowe is a stylish boutique hotel managed by Lark Hotels. Like most businesses, their pet policy allows for an additional charge of $50 per dog per day for dogs under 70 pounds. We stayed in one of the dog-friendly cottage-style suites, with plenty of space and a private outside entrance. You can book these suites online, simply add the amount, size and your dog’s name at the time of check out. Dogs are not allowed in the living room only. Out of respect for other guests, leashed dogs are only allowed in the hotel courtyard and outside common areas.
This hotel stands out for its luxurious, stylish decor. The lobby lounge is comfortably decorated with classic wooden stoves and cozy woolen blankets, inviting guests to curl up with a book or play a board game. Guests can enjoy breakfast at the lobby coffee bar or enjoy drinks and snacks at the new retro ski-themed après bar. You have to reserve an outdoor hot tub in advance, which is a little tricky. But the advantage is that you are guaranteed to get it. And the place can’t be beat. We could walk to the city center and the mountain ferry stopped in front of the hotel. It’s the perfect base for you and your dog’s Vermont adventures.
Dog Friendly Nyc: Visiting New York City With A Dog
The Inn at Mountain View Farm is a unique place to stay in the heart of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. According to their pet policy, dogs are allowed in select rooms: Peacham, Denville, Ann Denville, Maidstone and Lost Nation for an additional fee of USD 50 per night. You can select the “Pet Friendly” option for online booking. The hotel is so pet-friendly that there is a friendly golden retriever working at the front desk and there is even an animal sanctuary on site. Find out if your dog reacts to other animals!
We stayed in a quiet but comfortable Deluxe Peacham room. Roscoe especially likes to sleep in front of the wooden ceiling. In the morning we are welcomed in the main hotel building with freshly baked pastries and coffee. Just when we thought we couldn’t eat any more, the waiter brought out a bowl of his famous bun xeo. We can’t resist.
Boasting 400 acres of hills in the Northeast Kingdom, this historic farm is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever lived. You have to wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise full of pink and purple colors. In the morning comes fraud in the hills and valleys.
The Kempton Taconic in Manchester has one of the most generous hotel pet policies I’ve ever seen. Can’t fit in the elevator, we accept everything from fur to feathers! There are no restrictions on size, weight, breed or number of animals and there are no deposits or additional fees. Simply filter by pet when booking online and fill out the pet form at check-in.
Our 6 Favorite Road Trips To Take With Dogs
Kempton Taconic is truly the perfect place to pamper your dog. Rooms are equipped with food bowls, toys, treats and a lovely Orvis dog bed. (Auros flagship store just down the road is a must-see with your dog). Dogs are allowed in the hotel’s Copper Grove restaurant and lobby. During the colder seasons, they have heaters outside to keep you and your dog warm. Additionally, you can request pet services, including but not limited to pet sitting, dog walking and pet spa services, by contacting the front office.
Made Inn Vermont in downtown Burlington is a home away from home for you and your pets. This charming urban boutique bed and breakfast has a pet policy that welcomes well-behaved companions for $25 per day. You can book directly online, just add your dog to the number of guests and provide details in the notes.
We stayed in room 904, one of the larger rooms for a large dog. He’s even more comfortable with Roscoe, and the bathroom is down the hall (though at least it’s private). The unique features of the hotel may not be for everyone, but it is perfectly located within walking distance of the city center. The owner is very friendly and willing to give suggestions on pet-friendly restaurants and things to do in Burlington.
Located between Killington and Rutland in central Vermont, Mountain Top Resort not only allows dogs but also makes dogs a priority. Their pet policy notes that pets are welcome in the resort’s four luxury king cabins and a selection of guesthouses with Vermont-made cookies, bedding and dog bowls. Reservations can be made for an additional fee of $50 per dog per night. Maximum of two dogs per unit. Dogs must be registered at the time of booking.

The Stowehof is my dog-friendly hotel in Stowe. You can call to reserve a dog-friendly room on the first floor, which allows dogs of any size for an additional $25 per night and has direct access to the hotel’s spacious lawn.
This warm and welcoming lodge is built around exposed wooden beams and stunning mountain views. It feels like a true Alpine escape, timeless and comfortable. The world around us may change, but Stoffoff will forever be a familiar place to call home away from home.
With simple but clean rooms, this is one of the cheapest hotels in Stowe. The breakfast left something to be desired, so take your breakfast elsewhere. But enjoy a drink at Fritz’s Bar and join your child. Choose to play board games in the large booth in the living room, read a good book in front of the large sunken fireplace, or stargaze around the outdoor fire pit.
