Lovers of eclectic style will appreciate the retro and vintage vibes of The Little Olive Cabin.
The cabin is elegantly appointed with leather furniture, a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and a loft-style bedroom located above the main living area with quality linens in the bedroom and bathroom.
Enjoy the summer months with our large 11 meter swimming pool with beautiful views of the Owens Valley and Victorian Alps. Please note that the pool may be shared with guests of the larger homes on the property.
In winter, enjoy wood-fired heat with all the wood insured or the instant heat of a split system stove.
The Best Pet Friendly Accommodation In Melbourne (2024 Edition)
While relaxing on the terrace or sitting by the pool, you can walk around the back of the property through the bushes, enjoying the view of the Mount Buffalo Gorge.
For the more adventurous, bring your bike and ride the Murray in the Mountains Rail Trail and reach Bright or Myrtleford and beyond. A serious cyclist can climb Mount Buffalo to the historic Chalet. Unfortunately, there aren’t many pet-friendly caravans near Melbourne, let alone pet-friendly cabins. Choose from these options recommended by pet owners…
Portland Tourist Park
The only caravan park with pet-friendly cabins outside of Melbourne is Crystal Brook Tourist Park. This park is located in Doncaster East, on the north-eastern edge of Melbourne, on the edge of the city.
Pets are allowed in select cabins in the park and on sites. Choose from a Deluxe Family Villa or a Superior Hill Villa, both of which sleep up to six people, or a Standard Cabin that sleeps four.
Each of the cabins is independent and has its own bathroom. There is an additional pet fee of $25 per stay. At the edge of the park there is also an off-leash dog training area with an agility course.
It’s just a 90-minute drive from central Melbourne to Daylesford and Daylesford Holiday Park, where pets are allowed all year round. Pets are allowed in RVs and campsites as well as their new pet friendly cabin.
Pet Friendly Cabins On Ferries Between Uk And Europe
Bark Royal is a studio cabin with private bathroom that can accommodate up to two people and up to two small and medium-sized dogs are allowed inside. There is also a fenced-in outdoor space for your pups, including a doggie door suitable for small dogs. Online reservations are available on the website.
One of the most affordable places to stay in Victoria is the Best Friend Retreat. Situated in the Tarra Valley in southern Victoria, it’s surrounded by rainforest but just 2.5 hours’ drive south-east of Melbourne, perfect for a relaxing long weekend.
Each of the park’s seven cabins is dog-friendly and securely fenced. They range from budget to luxury options, generally for five or six guests. Each has its own bathroom and full kitchenette. Of course, dogs should sleep inside!
The park also features six off-leash dog runs, meaning there’s always room for your dog to run off-leash. One of the areas is equipped with agility equipment, while the other has a giant dog ball. Additionally, there is a hot tub to cool off at the end of busy, muddy days.
Beechworth Holiday Park
Moving further east, another great pet-friendly campsite in Gippsland is Prime Pet-Friendly Tourist Park. This park is located at the entrance to the lake, a few steps from the waterfront. The park recently became Victoria’s first child-free caravan park – instead catering to those traveling with pets.
At Prime, all cabins, cottages and vans are 100% dog friendly. In fact, they are only available to pet owners! As for owners of allergic dogs, one of the cabins is reserved for hypoallergenic dogs only.
You’ll also find on-site dog laundries, off-leash dog runs, pet litter washing machines, and even dog kennels. Stay tuned for updates, including new glamping tents and accommodation packages with training.
One pet-friendly cabin option in Victoria is Golden Beach Cabins. These cabins are located on Golden Beach in Central Gippsland, about 3 hours east of Melbourne, just opposite 90 Mile Beach.
Dog Friendly Accommodation Vic: 10 Of The Best Stays
There are two fully independent cabins available, both capable of accommodating up to five guests. Well-behaved dogs can come with you, although they must be kept away from the furniture. You will need to provide your dog’s bedding and there is a small additional charge for cleaning if dog hair is left on the furniture or you don’t pick it up. Please note that the cabins are not fenced.
The cabins are not far from other off-leash dog beaches: head west between campsites 1 and 6 along Golden Beach or east to Paradise Beach.
The last time I drove the Great Ocean Road with my dog, I was surprised to see the lack of pet-friendly cabins, especially along the eastern end of the road. To help you, consider these options…
A great pet-friendly caravan park that I discovered on my trip is the Marengo Family Caravan Park, just outside Apollo Bay.
Pet Friendly Accommodation, Places To Stay, Victoria, Australia
Pets are welcome in this caravan all year round, both on site and in all cabins. You can choose from vacation cabins, sea view cabins and luxury sea view spa cabins. Each cabin can accommodate up to five or six people.
Please note that although dogs are allowed in the cabins, they are not allowed on the carpets and furniture. However, there is no additional cost for pets and dogs are also allowed on the adjacent beach.
Another pet-friendly caravan park along the eastern end of the Great Ocean Road is BIG4 Aireys Inlet Holiday Park, although unfortunately pets are not allowed in the park during the Victorian summer school holidays – call reception to confirm exact dates.
In addition to being allowed in select locations, pets are also welcome in some cabins. Choose from four-person cabins with enclosed, covered porches or two-person cabins with a small fenced yard for your pup.

Pets are also allowed in the cabins, but not on the furniture. A water bowl and a cradle are also provided for your dog. Check back with the park to see if there are any fees, as well as a full list of pet rules.
If you head further west along the Great Ocean Road to Warrnambool, Port Fairy and Portland, you’ll find more campsites with pet-friendly cabins.
A great pet-friendly campsite in Port Fairy is Gum Tree Caravan Park, located just outside the town. We stayed in a lovely studio in the park, which was cute and modern, with a nice kitchen and private bathroom.
Villa Cabins, Superior Ensuite Cabins, Standard Ensuite Cabins, and Economy Ensuite Cabins are also pet-friendly, but pets are not permitted in Deluxe Ensuite Cabins and One-Bedroom Rooms. Pets are welcome 365 days a year and there is also an off-leash area and puppy play area. Call directly to book.
Economy Studio Cabin
Located in the center of Warrnambool, BIG4 Tasman Holiday Parks – Warrnambool (also known as Figtree Holiday Park) is pet friendly all year round subject to management approval.
In addition to being allowed on all tent and van sites, pets are also welcome in some standard cabins. This two bedroom cabin has a queen bed and two bunk beds and can sleep up to six guests. They also have a bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and air conditioning.
There’s plenty to see and do when you visit the Goldfields region with your dog, and there’s no shortage of great pet-friendly cabins to choose from.
The BIG4 Ballarat Windmill Caravan Park is a popular destination for dog owners, with fully enclosed caravans and campsites in their dog friendly area. The park also has a pet-friendly billabong area out back, where people and dogs can splash around
