Dog-friendly Day Trips Upstate Ny
Here you immerse yourself in nature and all the advantages of camping without calling it in any way!

You have your own bathroom 🚿 with a hot shower and a small kitchen right in your hut. 🏕
Located in Lake Luzerne, just 15-20 minutes outside of Lake George, there are lakes and hikes all around!
It’s the best and most comfortable dog walk (even for families!) for summer or early fall in New York.
Huttopia Adirondacks has more than 100 wood-frame and canvas tents inspired by French-Canadian trapezes and built for modern comfort. Most cabins include electricity, comfortable beds (I even checked the label to see where the lumber comes from!), wood stove, bathroom, shower, kitchen and more.
Best Day Trips From New York City To Take Now
One of my favorite things about this trip was one night we returned late to a sunset in Lake George.
We are hungry and we don’t want to sit and wait in a restaurant in our riding gear and we don’t feel like looking for restaurants for a good meal. So we returned to Huttopia and entered the cafe at 8:30pm.
A few minutes later we had two hot and fresh oven pizzas and the best red wine I’ve had in a long time. 😱 We sat in the lounge of the restaurant playing and eating until they closed and then they passed our hut.
As we see it, camping at Huttopia is about having fun and connecting with the great outdoors while enjoying the company of others, and the Adirondacks are a great place for that. Huttopia Adirondacks
Charming Lakes In New York For A Lakeside Vacation + Local Gems
I was surprised to learn that Huttopia started in Europe in 1999 and has locations in France, Holland, Spain, China and Canada.
There are 5 Huttopia locations in the US and we are lucky to have a couple here in the Northeast! There are two in California, one in New Hampshire, Maine, and the one I write in New York.
Being in the southern Adirondacks it is not too far of a drive from CT. But you still feel this wilderness that resembles the plains of Adirondack 🌲
(Did you know it’s the largest national park in America?! Definitely put the Adirondacks on your list!!)

At the Huttopia base, before you enter all the cabins, there is a restaurant and cafe.
On the morning menu there is a drink for all your coffee needs. Before going for a walk, make a latte, good coffee, espresso or tea! They also have freshly baked muffins and pastries or you can wait for a homemade version.
At night, go for a hot pizza that you can take away or enjoy in the open dining areas that have both inside and outside.
I’ve talked about pizza before this post (and you can trust me – I grew up in the New Haven, CT area, eating New Haven-style pizza! 🍕)

And they even have local beer and wine. I’m not a big drinker, but I had the best French wine I’ve had in a long time and asked to take a photo of the sign before I left. The cafe has something for everyone and details are not forgotten!
