Day Trips With Dogs Scotland – In the previous installment, Roman, Cynthia and their dog Stilton tell us about the start of the Anglo-Saxon journey through towns such as Follestone, Balmoral or Edinburgh and through Aberdeenshire. Scotland’s many dog-friendly destinations allow them to discover the many landscapes and beautiful places in this corner of England. It’s safe to say that Scots are true pet lovers!

Time to leave Rose and head north again. The weather was fine and would continue for another week, much to our surprise and to all the locals we passed who hadn’t seen this kind of weather for years.
Dog Friendly Travels Along The Nc500!
We chose to have coffee on the beach at the mouth of Finehorn Bay, where the colorful beach huts remind us of Gouville sur Mer en Normandy on the English Channel. We were alone, and some of the locals let their dogs roam free, with whom Stilton frolicked to his and our great delight. For the more daring, it is even possible to sleep in one of the cabins.

Highlands. Finally we arrived. The scenic NC500 coastal route is not without scenery. There are very few houses and cars, and little vegetation because what we consider a harsh climate leaves little room for vegetation. What follows is a maze of single-track lanes and a ballet of “lanes” connected by laterals to oncoming cars. We noticed a fort that literally licks the waves and requires a 20 minute walk to reach.

Now we are heading south. Avid waterfall lovers, we started the day at Weeping Widow Falls. You can go to the highest point and watch the hole empty, or you can reach the bottom after a steep 20-minute climb. I’Scotland lists many waterfalls, but this is definitely one of the most spectacular.
Note that the waterfall that falls from Loch na Gainmhich has many names, most of which are associated with the horror stories and legends of the place.
