Visiting The Rideau Lakes Area With Dogs
Melbourne’s most popular street art destination is Hoosier Lane in the city center not far from Federation Square. I also recommend ACDC Lane and Deckboard Place nearby. Combine a walk with your dog with a visit to a dog-friendly cafe, one in the city lane or on the banks of the Yarra.
If you don’t want to go downtown, there are plenty of other great examples of indoor spots around the city, perfect for brunch at a cafe or a drink at a pet-friendly local pub.
If you want to hike surrounded by nature rather than on busy footpaths, Yue Yang Regional Park is one of the best destinations outside of Melbourne. Located less than an hour from central Melbourne, this regional park welcomes dogs as long as they are kept on a leash.
Ane Yang is named after a local Aboriginal word for “big mountain in the middle of the plain”. The most popular trail in the park leads to the summit of Flinders Peak. From this granite cliff top there are great views towards Melbourne and the Bellarine Peninsula. The 3.5 km long return trip takes about an hour and includes several stages.

Although there aren’t any crowd-pleasing options on the menu, instead head across the street to the Rattling Red Cafe and grab your own coffee to go.
Five Dog Friendly Trips Around Regional Victoria To Take With Your Fur Baby
St Kilda has long been a popular Melbourne destination and is also a great place to visit with your child. While your dog is not allowed on rides at Luna Park amusement park, you can instead walk the pier (where dogs are allowed on leashes) and enjoy the surrounding beaches.
The nearest dog-friendly beach in St Kilda is on the west side of the pier next to Pier Road towards the drainage ditch. Dogs are allowed to walk here without a leash all year round. On the east side, dogs are only allowed on the sand in winter. Dogs are also allowed on the St Kilda West sands all year round, except in the dune area and between Brooks Jetty and the northern end of the St Kilda Marina car park.
If you visit St Kilda on a Sunday, check out the shopping wonders along the Esplanade. Also make sure to stop by Gray Street and visit Chez Misty. This French creperie offers a full line of crepes and puppies just for dogs, as well as delicious galettes and sweet crepes for humans. There are dog couches in the backyard and there is also an indoor off-leash entertainment area.
In addition to being a dog-friendly creperie, Chez Misty also offers paddleboarding and brunch events for adventurous pups. First, enjoy an hour-long paddleboarding session with your pup and then have breakfast together at Chez Misty.
Dog Friendly Day Trips From Melbourne

Yarra Bend Park is located 4 kilometers north-east of Melbourne’s CBD, but is home to the largest remaining natural woodland in inner Melbourne. The park is located on both sides of the Yarra River, which runs along a 12km long winding road.
