Best Dog Friendly Holidays Ireland – Today, one in four households in Ireland has a dog, so we reached out to our community to find the best places where dogs are allowed for short breaks and weekend adventures.
Lively Galway Visit Galway’s dog-friendly bars. You’ll find scenic hikes, cute cafes, and plenty of dog-friendly accommodations. With its beautiful beaches and national park, the Duke is a big fan of Connemara, the Irish reds. Be inspired by the Duke’s epic adventure which begins with a visit to Connemara National Park. Then it was time for a stroll along the aptly named Dog Bay Beach, after which we headed into Clifden for refreshments at Market 57. Explore Clare’s spectacular coastline With its stunning cliffs and stunning beaches, there’s nothing better than Clare for an unforgettable holiday. Go on an outdoor adventure with your child and don’t forget your camera to take photos of the Clare coast. Take it from Kaylen, a huge Flag County fan: Her owners have tons of recommendations for dog-friendly places in Clare. “We stayed in a dog-friendly cottage on Shannon Crossing Road, which had a private gravelled garden at the back. The beach was a hit with our dog, who loved the freedom of swimming each morning before taking a walk to explore some of the famous sights along the Wild Atlantic Way, Kilkee Cliffs and Round Head Lighthouse.” Discover Ireland’s End: take the kids for a walk in Dromore nature reserve outside Ennis. If time permits, complete your stay in Clare with a visit to the Dolin Village Hotel. Let your pup splash in the sparkling blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean and spend the afternoon strolling along the wide stretch of golden sand. Cork is one of the most popular food destinations in the country and, even better, some restaurants and cafes are dog-friendly. Hamish, or ‘Hungry Hamish’ as he is known, his owners are big fans of Cork and share their favorite places in the Rebel County. “We absolutely love Angelina in the city. The food is good, the staff make a great effort to accommodate Hamish and there is an indoor outdoor seating area if your dog needs a quick walk. Another great dog-friendly restaurant is Ferrit and Lee in Middleton. Check out the Irish tip: When in Cork city, pop into Alchemy’s for a coffee, sit with your dog and watch the world go by. Take a walk to nearby Fitzgerald Park to see the Michael Collins statue. Conclude your visit to Cork with a stay at Castlemartre Resort, one of the best dog-friendly hotels in Ireland. Take a walk in Tipperary, the land of the Golden Vale, verdant countryside full of helipads and perfect for dog walking. Three Kings Circle Walk in Cashel is a great place to walk the dog according to Mary, who says it is “clean, well kept and beautiful”.
