On November 18, the Veterinary and Veterinary Services (AVS) from the National Parks Council (NParks) and the Singapore Veterinary Association released joint vaccination guidelines for domestic dogs and cats.
The Singapore Vaccination Guide 2020 lists core and non-core vaccinations for dogs and cats, and provides recommendations for animals at different life stages and living environments, including single pets, multi-pets and indoor shelters.
Primary dog vaccines protect against canine distemper virus, canine adenovirus and canine parvovirus. The main vaccine for cats protects against feline parvovirus, feline calicivirus and feline herpes virus.
AVS and the Singapore Veterinary Association said: “The guidelines will improve awareness and understanding of the importance of pet vaccination among various stakeholders, including pet owners, animal welfare groups and the pet trade.”
