The beach is best at low tide when there are large stretches of sand for your dog to run on and the beach connects to Meadowsfoot (Mothecombe). However, you have to be careful because they come here very quickly and there is a risk of breaking at high tide.
Parking near the beach is very limited and there are no facilities. There is about 15-20 cars parking on the street along the banks of the Mekong River. There is a beautiful hiking trail (marked as a public trail) from the road to Vonwell Beach that takes about 10 minutes. There is also a footpath from the road to the banks of the River Erme and at low tide it is possible to walk along the banks of the river to Vonwell Beach. Dogs are welcome here all year round, and if you can find parking, it’s the most beautiful combination of forest and coastal walks.
