Dog Friendly Vacations Midwest For Couples – When we were looking for a place to stay with our in-laws on a recent trip to Door County, we had two priorities: dog friendliness and waterfront. At first we looked for private rentals, but couldn’t find anything that met our quality standards and was within our budget. We ended up finding Sharrows Resort in Egg Harbor that met both of our criteria. We believe that unlike private rentals, you can lose your cool in the private rental area and that we need to keep Memphis on a tight leash, and we were wrong on both counts. The shallows were the perfect resort for us and our smokes.
As mentioned earlier, preserving water is a top priority for us. Door County is on a peninsula, so if you’re not near water, you’re missing out. The beach space at Shallows did not disappoint. It’s a huge waterfront area and our room’s balcony had a front line view. You can walk out the back door and get there. There is a small dock and a place where you can walk in the water if you wish. And on the other side of the dock you can launch your kayak. The best part was the view we enjoyed looking out over the water at the end of the night. One in a beautiful orange sunset and the other in an approaching summer storm. Both look great.

We like to take our dogs with us on trips as much as possible. This is very important to us in Door County where he loves to hike and swim in Lake Michigan. Shallows Resort allows well-behaved pets for an additional $40 per day pet fee. In fact, they requested that the dog not be left alone in the room. On site, they are very casual with dogs and don’t care if well-behaved pets are allowed to sit or swim with their owners. If someone is abusing their dog by taking it off the leash, I think they should stop it, so please be careful. We also made conscious choices about when to let him out, like when people were having barbecues. Memphis could be a fast food thief, so I don’t want to take any chances. But as long as you know your dog’s capabilities, this is a great place to take your dog.

One of her husband’s favorite and most memorable moments was meeting an old man on the first day who he believed to be the owner of the land. As if the waterfront wasn’t enough, this resort also has many other amenities. Our favorite was the small sized pool and hot tub. The pool right next to the lake is a great place to take a dip, as you have to walk far from the lake to get deep enough to swim. There are also several kayaks that you can use for free during your stay. All we had to do was pull them up and we were on our way. There are also hiking trails and tennis courts, but to be honest, we didn’t even get a chance to try them because we were too busy to enjoy them all. I think that’s all the more reason to book a return trip.
Our room had all the main amenities of a hotel, a clean bathroom, a comfortable bed, and plenty of space for all of us. There is also a TV. We hardly used it as we were there all day and enjoyed the facilities and the sunset in the evening. We made great use of the refrigerator in the room, which stores all the wine and cheese we brought home each day. Our favorite and most used spot is the balcony, which overlooks the water and is a great place to relax.
