Dog Friendly Caravan Parks In Australia With Fenced Sites
All our campers and campsites are dog-friendly because we know that holidays are best enjoyed with the whole family.
Our spacious pitches are equipped with evergreen artificial grass, making them absolutely soft underfoot. For those looking for a little more privacy, check out our Riverwalk sites. Conveniently located in a quiet part of the park, the Riverwalk areas provide additional space and flexibility by allowing accommodations to be located above ground.
Our dog-friendly swimming spots are the perfect luxury to enhance your stay, offering the convenience of your own private bathroom right next to your RV or campsite.
In addition to designated areas within the park, there are a number of off-leash areas within the park, including Spit Beach (20 minutes’ drive), Damian Leeding Memorial Park and Riverside Dog Walk (10 minutes’ drive). .

Dogs staying at Big4 Gold Coast Holiday Park must be vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination upon arrival.
Dogs are not allowed in the swimming pool area, Nibbles Café and water park. Dogs are welcome at Nibbles Terrace.
Please remember that we also love our koalas and kangaroos and ask that you always respect their habitats and do not leave your dog off-leash in the park at any time, except in designated off-leash areas.
Failure to comply with our stay regulations may result in the removal of the dog or cancellation of the reservation.

If you are interested in walking your dog in Queensland but don’t have your own caravan or tent to park in, a good alternative is to stay in a pet-friendly cottage, usually within a caravan park. While many cottages unfortunately do not allow pets, I have found a wide range of pet-friendly cottages in Queensland, from the south of the state to far north Queensland.

Queensland’s southern Granite Belt wine region is incredibly dog-friendly, including the central town of Stanthorpe. The Top of the Town Tourist Park on the outskirts of town offers a wide range of accommodation options for pet owners, including pet-friendly cottages at affordable prices.
Choose standard cabins that are pet-friendly. Each studio-style cabin sleeps up to four people and is equipped with a double bed and a pair of bunk beds, as well as a kitchenette and private bathroom. There are also pet-friendly family cottages, which typically have a queen-size bed in a separate bedroom and a wood-burning stove.

Just a short drive from the city centre, the park has a swimming pool, games room, indoor barbecue area and plenty of space to take your pet for a bush walk.
If you’d rather hit the beach than holiday with your pup in Queensland, Kirra Beach Holiday Park is a dog-friendly caravan park on the Gold Coast. Just a short walk to the beach (and a short drive to Palm Beach’s off-leash dog beach), dogs are welcome year-round at select serviced locations and excellent dog-friendly cottages.
Two spacious two-bedroom cottages have been designed as dog-friendly cottages. Each cabin’s balcony is enclosed and equipped with pet-safe netting, perfect for relaxing meals, such as a barbecue on the balcony. Inside there are two bedrooms for four people, a kitchen with a dishwasher and a bathroom.
Please note that we can usually only accommodate one small dog per booking and it must be up to date on its vaccinations. There is an additional apartment cleaning fee of USD 32. The park also has a self-service dog wash and a pet-friendly fountain, and is adjacent to a usable grassy area.

Another extremely friendly caravan park on the Gold Coast is BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park. The park is the most dog-friendly caravan park on the Gold Coast and includes a huge, fenced off-leash dog park with agility equipment, a DIY dog wash known as the Dog Treat Palace and on-site kennels.
Dogs are welcome in at least 20 pet-friendly cottages throughout the park. Pet-friendly options include cozy studio cottages, cozy cottages, two-bedroom cottages, two-bedroom family cottages, two-bedroom bungalows and patios for two to six guests. Pets are not allowed in motel rooms and some larger villas. If you’re unsure, check carefully with the park or its website (look for paw prints).
A maximum of two calm and well-behaved dogs are allowed in the room at no additional charge if prior reservation is required. Please remember to inform the park at the time of booking that you are bringing a pet and bring your vaccination documents.
North Stradbroke Island is one of the dog-friendly islands off the coast of Queensland. Pets are allowed on the ferries. The island has a leash-free beach and beaches that require a leash. The classic option is to camp on beaches that can only be reached by 4WD vehicles. However, there are also pet-friendly cottages in North Stradbroke.
Pet Friendly Brisbane, Gold Coast & Se Queensland
Book a stay at Sea Shanties at Amity Point on the northern tip of the island. Five of the eight cottages are pet-friendly and friendly to well-behaved dogs. The stylishly designed cabins can accommodate two to six guests, and each has its own kitchen and bathroom.
Cottages offer water or garden views, but have water access throughout the property, including an outdoor waterfront kitchen and barbecue area.
It’s only a three-hour drive north from downtown Brisbane to the Great Sandy Strait, but it’s a world away from the city, especially if you stay at the tranquil and relaxing Poona Palms resort.
At the discretion of the managers, animals are welcome in the park all year round, both in operational facilities and in pet-friendly cottages. Pets are allowed in select two- and three-bedroom cottages and park cottages. Ask directly which cabins these are and remember to specify when booking that you are bringing a pet.
Queensland’s Best Pet Friendly Holidays
The campsite has its own off-leash dog run, equipped with agility equipment, and there is a K9000 dog wash station in front of the toilet, essential for cleaning up after adventures on the sand. There is also a boat ramp, making the area popular for fishing and crabbing.
Head further north to find more pet-friendly cottages in Queensland and book a stay at BIG4 Hervey Bay Holiday Park. Pets are allowed not only at the campsites they operate, but also at select pet-friendly lodges.
Each of the open-plan cabins sleeps up to four people and is equipped with a double bed and a pair of bunk beds. There is a small kitchen and a bathroom with full linen.
The park is conveniently located in Point Vernon. While most beaches in the Hervey Bay area allow dogs on a leash, at Point Vernon Beach leashes are allowed. There are three dedicated off-leash areas, including a section between Aplin Street and Pines Park, right next to the mobile home park.

Further north, Bargara is a popular beach spot near Bundaberg. If you want to spend your holiday with your dog, consider booking a stay at BIG4 Breeze – Bargara holiday parks and their pet-friendly cottages.
Dogs are welcome in all cottages, including open-plan cottages that sleep four or six, one-bedroom cottages that sleep five, and two-bedroom cottages that sleep six or seven people. One small dog is allowed in the cabin.
When making your reservation, please make sure to inform the park that you are bringing your dog so that they can assign you the appropriate cabin. There is an additional fee of USD 50 per stay.
The caravan park is located just meters from Neilson Park Dog Park, at the northern end of Fred Cutis Avenue. Dogs are also allowed on leashes on sections of Bargara Beach accessible from the Esplanade. However, please be aware of some signs indicating that dogs are not allowed.

A great pet-friendly place to stay when traveling north through Queensland is Mt Larcom Tourist Park. This park is conveniently located just off the Bruce Highway near the Gladstone turnoff.
