The resort has everything you need for the perfect vacation without leaving its 700-acre grounds. Choose from fun activities for the whole family, from land to lake. The guest pool and waterfront are pet-free, but there is a dog-only pool, Fanny Beach. We could even rent a sailboat to go out on the lake with Roscoe! Guests can also dine at one of the resort’s 5 restaurants. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, but you can dine with them at Red Mill’s outdoor seating. If you want to have some fun without Fido, dog walking and dog sitting services are also available.

Located in Stowe, Field Guide Lodge is an elegant boutique hotel managed by Lark Hotels. Like many other properties, our pet policy allows dogs under 70 pounds for an additional fee of $50 per dog per day. We stayed in one of three dog-friendly cottage suites with plenty of space and a private exterior entrance. This suite can be booked online. Please add quantity, size, and your dog’s name in the notes at checkout. Never leave your dog alone in a room. Out of respect for other guests, leashed dogs are only allowed outside the lobby and hotel public areas.
The hotel stands out for its elegant and luxurious décor. The lobby lounge is comfortably decorated with a classic wood-burning stove and cozy leather blankets, where guests can read a book or play board games. Guests can enjoy breakfast in the lobby café or drinks and snacks in the new Après Only ski-style bar. You have to make a reservation in advance for the outdoor hot springs, which is a bit inconvenient. But the advantage is that it can be covered. And the location can’t be beat. It was a short walk to the city center and the mountain shuttle stopped in front of the hotel. This is the perfect base for you and your pup’s Vermont adventures.

The Inn at Mountain View Farm is a unique venue located in the heart of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Dogs are allowed in certain rooms, such as the Peacham, Danville, N. Danville, Maidstone, and Lost Nation, for an additional fee of $50, depending on the pet policy. To reserve a room online, select the “Pets Friendly” option. The hostel is animal-friendly, with friendly golden retrievers manning the front desk, and there is also an animal sanctuary. Consider whether your dog reacts to other animals!
We stayed in the cozy and comfortable Deluxe Peacham Room. Roscoe especially loved sleeping in front of the wood-burning fireplace. In the morning we were greeted with warm pastries and freshly brewed coffee in the main lodge building. Just when we thought we couldn’t eat any more, our host brought out a batch of his famous pancakes with farm-fresh blueberries. We couldn’t stand it.
This historic 400-acre ranch on a ridge in the Wild Northeast Kingdom is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. It’s worth it to wake up at dawn to see the sunrise, the pale pinks and purples flooding the mountains, and the morning fog in the valley.
The Kimpton Taconic in Manchester offers one of the most generous hotel pet policies I’ve ever seen. Everyone is welcome, as long as they can fit in the elevator, from the furry to the hirsute! There is no size, weight, breed or number of pets allowed and there are no deposits or additional costs. Filter for pet-friendly when booking online and fill out the pet form at check-in.

Kimpton Taconic is the perfect place to pamper your dog. Rooms are equipped with food bowls, toys, treats, and luxury Orvis dog beds. (The Orvis flagship store down the street is a must-see with your dog.) Dogs are welcome in the hotel’s Copper Grouse restaurant lobby and entrance dining area. There are outdoor heaters to keep you and your pup warm during the colder months. You may also contact the front desk to request pet services such as pet sitting, dog walking, and pet spa services.
Made Inn Vermont, located in downtown Burlington, is a home away from home for you and your pet. The pet policy at this luxury boutique bed and breakfast in the city welcomes well-behaved furry friends for a fee of $25 per pet. You can book online, just be sure to add your dog to the number of guests and write down the details in the notes.
We stayed in room 904, one of the larger rooms recommended for large dogs. She’s pretty nice to Roscoe and the bathroom is down the hall (at least it’s private). The quirky nature of the hostel may not be for everyone, but it has a great location within walking distance of the city centre. The owners are very friendly and happy to offer suggestions on pet-friendly restaurants and things to do in Burlington.
Located between Killington and Rutland in central Vermont, Mountain Top Resort is not only dog friendly, it puts dogs first. The pet policy states that dogs are welcome in the resort’s four luxurious king cabins and various accommodations, which are equipped with Vermont factory-made dog food, dog beds and bowls. Reservations can be made for an additional fee of $50 per unit, with a maximum of two animals per unit. You must register your dog at the time of reservation.
