Located south of Sugarhouse on the edge of Millcreek, Brickyard Bar raises the bar for sports pub food. From Traeger’s smoked meat and cauliflower wings to grilled cheese and churros, there’s something for everyone on the menu. Diners can pair their meal with Brickyard’s extensive beer, wine and cocktail menu. Brunch is available on weekends from 10am to 3pm. The focus on health is reflected in their farm-to-table menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. At Salt Lake Brewing Company, Fisher Brewing Company has been brewing in Utah since 1884. Located in the Grain District, those 21 and older can add this hot dog deck to their winter rotation. With over 15 beers on tap, Fisher’s is the perfect place to meet up with friends and your dog(s) in tow. In winter, you can expect their comfortable decks and tents with additional heaters scattered around the accommodation. In our experience, this keeps the outdoor space almost as cool as the tap room. Although Fisher Brewing doesn’t serve food itself, a local food truck is on site almost every day.
Handle Bar, the ultimate Marmalade watering hole, bills itself as “Salt Lake’s only bike and mustache bike,” but you can add dogs to that list! Two gas fireplaces and overhead heaters keep the many tables on the Handle Bar deck cozy even when the temperature drops. Vegetarians and all foodies alike will enjoy this classic American pub menu offering a wide selection of food. Don’t miss brunch – great food and $2 mimosas! The kitchen is open until midnight every day and dinner is served every Saturday and Sunday.
Perhaps Salt Lake City’s most popular breakfast spot, Park Cafe now has a covered patio that’s open year-round. Equipped with a fireplace and heaters, this cozy patio will keep you and your dog cozy during the winter months. With crowded places and long waiting lists (sometimes up to 2 hours on weekends!), we only recommend this dog-friendly side during off hours and days. Along with a walk around Liberty Park before or after a meal, the Park Cafe is a solid choice for dogs in winter.
Level Crossing Brewing opened its doors in 2019 and officially began welcoming dogs on its newly renovated patio in 2022. In the winter they add a heated tent in addition to their fireplace so the deck is accessible year round! Their menu includes wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches and appetizers that complement their craft beers. Hospitality is the cornerstone of the crossing, so your dog will definitely feel as welcome as you do.

Another amazing Granary District brewery is Templin Family Brewing, also known as TF Brewing. Their large, fenced yard is one of our dog favorites in the summer, but winter can get pretty chilly if you pull up one of the rocking chairs by the fire pit. Fires are not lit unless requested, so you may want to track down an employee to help.
A cozy tea house in the heart of the Sugar district, Tea Zaanti courtyard is available all year round. There is a small sitting area on the covered porch, but nice heaters can be used if needed.

We were impressed with the quality of the food at Eleven Strands. Both the Crab Meat Patty ($27) and the Wagyu Beef Burger ($28) were delicious. Outside there were 2-3 tables where the animals could sit.
